FastECU provides many features normally only seen in commercial software applications. The main capabilities are:
- Platforms: FastECU is written with Qt and supports Windows 32bit/64bit and Linux x86_64/arm64. There is also planned support for FreeBSD and possible for Android. Mac should also be possible but lack of testing machines we are unable to confirm that.
- Subaru support: Tuning support for many Subaru ROM versions via ECU definition data files. ECU definitions can be upgraded independently of the actual tuning software. FastECU does not have it’s own definition file format but supports EcuFlash and RomRaider definition file formats. Also EcuEdit definition file format support is planned.
- Other car makes: Current versions does not support other car makes but there is nothing that prevents them to be added.
- Multiple maps: The ability to load, modify and save one or more ROM files
- Intuitive user interface: Simple, easy to use user interface which presents the various ROM maps within a tree view grouped by function e.g. Boost, Fuel, Timing are each groups collating a number of related maps.
- Map copy & paste: ROMs can be quickly tuned using the copy and paste capability.
- Map smoothing: This allows tuners to interpolate map data values greatly reducing the time taken to alter maps.
- Realtime data logging.
